Adopting From HMF

Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age and have approval from HOA/owner of residence (written in lease)

Must live local (within 1 hour/50 miles of Plainfield, IL)
​
Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household
​
Have a valid ID with current address
​
Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Hedd Mutt Foundation

Process
Fill out the adoption application
​
HMF will contact you to discuss your application then we will set either a home visit (if there is no other pets in home) or invite you to an adoption event to meet the dog
​
HMF will take the time to consider the needs of both the family and the dog. We want the best for the animal and the family - during this time we will process your application and verity your current pets vetting
​
We will set a home visit to properly introduce the resident dog to HMF dog - home check will take place during this time, this must be done for applicants prior to any final placements being made
​
If all this completed above the two week foster to adopt period will start - we provide everything during this time, after the two weeks is complete then the adoption can be finalized!
Adoption Fees
All Hedd Mutt dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and receive age-appropriate vaccinations. They are also de-wormed, heartworm tested, and given heartworm and flea and tick preventatives.
